Can't create an Ad-hoc network

I can not start an Ad-hoc network.

I'ts not an option in my settings if i want to start up a new network.

Then, if i type adhoc in my start menu, i get "een ad-hocnetwerk (computer naar computer) instellen"  translated , starting up a ad-hoc network.

When i click on it i will recieve a troubleshoot message "De windows-wireless service wordt niet uitgevoerd" translated , The windows wireless serive is not running.

After that it shows that there are no problems and redirects me here.

So does anybody know why i cant startup an Ad-hoc network ?

    Hi,

Let's first make sure that the Wireless Service i.e. WLAN AutoConfig service enabled.

To do this, login to the computer as an administrator:

    1. Click Start, type services.msc and hit enter.
    2. Locate WLAN AutoConfig service; double click on it to open its properties window.
    3. Under General tab, change the Startup type to Automatic and click Start button.
    4. Apply the settings and close the Window.

Check if you are able to create an Ad hoc Network.

Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network

Let us know if that helps.

    Regards,

    Chethan Kumar.

Hi, my name is Kevin. I had problems with creating a new ad hoc on Windows 7 too and the exact same message popped up . But when I tried to change it to automatic it didn't really do anything. Any help would be appreciated?

I am having the same problem like you. The solution did not work for me. I use Windows 7 Home Premium :(
