Creative prodikeys driver for 64 bt

Hi, Creative have a keyboard which has a MIDI keyboard build in under the wristrest. Great idea but Creative can't be bothered to release driveers for Windows 7. The Vista drivers work for 32 bit Windows 7 but it seems impossible to get 64 bit Windows 7 to recognise the MIDI keyboard. I've installed the virtual XP on my machine but how can I get the drivers to install under the virtual XP (I assume it's in 32 bit mode) with out the 64 bit Windows 7 interfering with it ?

I'm asking here because Creative just refuse to discuss 64 bit issues :-(

Many thanks

Adrian

Hi Adrian, I had the same problem as you, but I was able to find the drivers, I think they are a 3rd party that programed them.

I purchased this driver and installed it on a Win 7 x64bit, but nothing happened!  My poor Prodikeys is still not working, and have to dual boot with XP to make it work for now-a real big hassle.

Got any tips to make it run right?

    Hi Adrian Aitken,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Answers Forums.

I’d suggest you to update drivers for your Creative prodikeys using Windows Update.

To update drivers using Windows Update

You can check Windows Update any time to see if it's found updated drivers for your hardware, especially if you recently installed a new device. Then, you can install the updated drivers. Here's how:

    1.     Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.‌

    2.     In the left pane, click Check for updates.

If there are any available updates, click the links to see more information about each update. Windows Update tells you if an update is important, recommended, or optional. Each type of update might include drivers. For more information, see Understanding Windows automatic updating.

    3.     On the Select the updates you want to install page, look for updates for your hardware devices, select the check box for each driver that you want to install, and then click OK.

There might not be any available driver updates.

    4.     On the Windows Update page, click Install updates If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Windows Update will tell you if the updates were successfully installed.

For more information, please see Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

If you cannot find the drivers using windows update, there is not much we can do in that matter. You will have to wait until the manufacturer rolls out the drivers.

    Hope this information helps you.

I too know what I'm doing. Maybe you bought a later version of the drivers that include x64 versions. Sadly it wasn't the case with the ones provided for me. Why don't you upload your copy of the drivers to help those who bought the 32 bit drivers as the copyright to the code belongs to Creative Labs?

    Hi Mark,

I am sorry for whining, just I am not a computer whiz and don't know how to remove the old drivers, and where to download the new drivers to...

Would be really helpful if you could tell me how to do this :)

    Thanks
