    Hi DenmanIs

Thank you for using Microsoft Answers Forums!

Are you the Administrator of your computer?

Login as the administrator and then perform these steps:

Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to Uninstall Lifecam VX 5000:

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility might be able to help you. You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. It will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

To remove the installed webcam program:

    1.    Click start, click All Programs, click Windows installer cleanup item and launch the tool.

    2.    From the list of installed programs, select the webcam program and click Remove to completely remove it from the system.

    3.    Once the webcam driver is removed successfully, restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

    4.    After system restart, initiate the installation of the webcam driver and restart the computer once again. Check for the device functionality.

    Download the tool from here:

Post back and let us know if this has helped to resolve your issue.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,

I was getting similar error for another application. It got fixed by giving "modify" permission for the particular folder to "Users", and the uninstall worked. Hope this helps if it is a permission issue.

    Regards,

    Rahul
