Hi rhegge,
You may try to install drivers for your easycap capture device in compatibility mode for Windows XP and Vista, if you can’t find drivers that are compatible with your device.
1. Download drivers that were compatible with Windows operating system and right click on the setup file, click Properties, click Compatibility tab, under compatibility mode, check mark Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select previous operating system in which you were able to capture your VCS tapes to DVD.
2. After you have selected it, click on Apply and then click OK.
3. Under Privilege level, click Run this program as an administrator, click on Apply and then click OK.
4. Install the driver software and restart the computer and check if you can use your easycap capture device functionality in Windows 7.
5. For more information on running a program in compatibility mode, visit the following link.

If the above method makes it difficult for you to capture your VCS tapes to DVD’s, please use your favorite search engine to search for the video capture device that you require. Then check for its compatibility in Microsoft Compatibility Center mentioned in the link below.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
Under the "Check the compatibility status of your software and devices" select the "Hardware" category from the drop down menu and in the next column enter the product name and click on Search.
Hope this information helped you.
