Konica Minolta 2300W - Cannot install drivers under Win 7 x64

I've attempted multiple times to install drivers for my Konica Minolta 2300W Color Laser Printer under Win 7 x64. The printer driver continues to fail. I've researched the information on the Konica support site, and even the Windows Vista drivers updates in early y2008 do not install, with the same error:

AddPrintPocess Failed!

pPathName: MIMFPR_P.DLL

pPrintProcessorName: MIMFPR_P

I've updated the latest available printer driver list from MS Update, and the closest version I see listed to my printer in the same family is the MC2350.

Can anyone assist me in getting the appropriate printer driver or a workaround using existing drivers for the Konica/Minolta Magicolor 2300Wfor Win 7 x64?

I received this response from Konica Minolta on June 3, 2010:

    Hi Patrick,

First, we sincerely apologize for the terrible delay in responding to your question.

Unfortunately, there are no Windows 7 drivers for the magicolor 2300W, and there will not be any Windows 7 64-bit drivers developed. I regret to say that we can offer no workaround for you to use this printer with 64-bit Windows 7.

If we can be of any further assistance please let us know.

    Regards,

Did you try right clicking on the Minolta's exe file and selecting Run as Administrator?

I too am in the same boat! Furthermore, I have a Konica Minolta Pageworks Pro 25 which I bought 3 of and we use in the office along with 2 of the MagiColor 2300W's. They are AMAZING printers but I am extremely disappointed to hear that KM has such a poor sense of customer loyalty. I guess it just means that they prefer to lose their business to other manufacturers that actually care about their customers. Oh well, in the trash they go and it looks like its time to get new printers. The sadest part is that at this point even DELL offers better support than Konica Minolta and that speaks volumes!!!!

Totally unnacceptable response from Konica Minolta. I have had to buy a new printer when I upgraded to 64bit - but I'll tell you something - it wasn't a Konica Minolta printer and no way will I ever buy another Konica Minolta printer either. My Magicolr 2300W has served me flawlessly for about three years since I bought it new. I have a complete set of toner cartridges which have never been opened. Now - there is no GIVING this printer away. I advertised it on Gumtree for £100 to include toner catridges. No takers at all. So now I am giving it away to a friend with a 32bit system. Thanks Konica Minolta. It would have cost you peanuts to develop a 64 bit driver for this printer. But instead, you have lost a few customers because you refused. Pretty bad overall.

hi, please post EXACTLY how you managed to get the 2300w working with Windows 7 x64 and a usb print server. I have a "print server" built into my QNAP and i tried using it with the 2300W, the QNAP recognises the 2300W but when you try to print then windows 7 x64 still asks for 2300W drivers, which obviously we dont have and dont exist.

I am so angry at Konika Minolta for not supplying drivers for this. It would take some 17 yr old programmer in their office 2 hours away from his skateboard to knock these drivers up and yet they refuse, and the result is that all these otherwise perfectly good 2300w printers are ending up in landfill around the world. Call that a "green policy"? this is just unacceptable in this day and age...

Stop being greedy, environment trashing mongrels KM and supply drivers for our 2300W printers!!!
