I have tried many times to install this update, but was unable to do it. I simply am getting the error message update failed. What should be done in order to install the file?

    Hi Eduardo,

please download and run the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [April 2010] and check if you can install the update.

After you run the tool a file called checkSUR.log is created in the folder C:\Windows\Logs\CBS. Please open it and look if the tool was able to fix all errors.

copy the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't open it) and open it with notepad. Now search for errors. Which errors do you see?

If you're unsure, upload the CBS.log to your SkyDrive and post a link here.

Was there any error messages? Have you tried manually installing the same?
