Disappearing characters when typing

Greetings,

Recently, when typing in email or Word documents, letters disappear while I am typing. In the past it seemed that it was a speed issue with email only. Currently, in midsentence, characters will disappear and not "catch-up". The cursor remains but previous letters, characters and numbers do not appear. I checked my keyboard connection (USB) and the connection was fine. Any suggestions as to why this started happening and hoe I can resolve the problem? Regards, John

Click on the Insert key.  You probably toggled it to overtype mode.

I was typing an email & just out of nowhere the whole email disappeared!? So do you think I overtyped a letter...?

If I was to click on the Insert key...tell me what it is & where it is on the keyboard, please?

    I have Windows 10...

Are you kidding me?  I asked that question days ago, and looked up the info myself.

Microsoft continues to astonish me....you have a monopoly and yet you have no one state-side or anywhere in the world to my knowledge who can pick up a phone and answer a user's question.

Shame on you.  I'm not sure who is minding the store these days, but shame on you.

Recently with my new Lenova Windows 10, I was typing in Word. All of a sudden my pages change location, which makes me think the document was reduced. I close without saving. The next time this happened, every page disappeared. I was left with page 1 of my document. After having a heart attack, I closed without saving. Thankfully, my auto save is on. I ran my virus protection and everything seems fine. Why would Word reduce my document? I can't afford to lose my work.
