I keep getting the above error message whenever I try to install an update to a program I already have and use daily.

The program vendor is at a loss to explain why this happens, but it happens on two different computers.

    Hello Connie,

Typically, this message occurs when the ZIP file is in a protected area.

To resolve the problem, move the ZIP file into one of your user profile sub folders, like Downloads, Documents, Pictures, etc.  Then try to extract the files.

If that doesn't work, the ZIP file may be corrupted.  You should replace it with a new download from the source.

I just started receiving this same error message on files I have previously accessed on my computer.  I have Windows 7.

The zipped file is in my "This PC > Downloads" folder.

I have downloaded the file again and it still does not work.  This is not a problem with the file as this is happening all the time now with other files.

I'd LOVE to hear how to get around this.

Please see my above questions.  I can't help if I don't understand the problem as completely as possible.  MinnesotaNice2010, as for Windows7, please repost your related question to the Windows7 Forum at:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7.

    Thanks and good luck!

What program are you talking about (and what version)?  What is the link to the updates you are trying to download?

You say it is occurring on two different computers - both I assume running Vista.  This suggests it isn't a Vista problem but a problem with the program and/or the update (despite what the program vendor is telling you).  Once we know the program and updates, we may be able to assist you further.

Can you get and install Windows updates?  Knowing that will eliminate a number of potential problems (or help identify the problem if you can't do it).

    Thanks for the information.

    Good luck!
