    Hi SavannahMick,

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to uninstall the update which was installed recently and check if the issue is fixed.

    Remove an update:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Remove-an-update

    Method 2:

If the method 1 does not resolve the issue, then I would suggest you to perform System restore.

    Hi SavannahMick,

    1. Did you follow the instructions given by "Fouzan A Microsoft Support, Moderator"?
    2. Do you've any issues with Media Center?

Step 1: Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.1 is the built-in version in Windows 7. The Microsoft .Net Framework 4 is the update available for your computer.

The .NET Framework is Microsoft's comprehensive and consistent programming model for building applications that have visually stunning user experiences, seamless and secure communication, and more.

See Benefits of the Microsoft .NET Framework

Step 2: As the error message points to Media Center, try removing media center updates and reinstall it

    a. Click Start, type cmd, right click cmd and click run as administrator.

    b. Type the following command and hit enter:

    schtasks /delete /tn "microsoft\windows\media center\mcupdate"  /f

    c. Type the following and hit enter:

    cd /d %WINDIR%\ehome

    d. Type the following and hit enter:

    start /wait mcupdate -u

    e. Restart the computer and check the result.

    Regards,

    Syed - Microsoft Support.

    Hi SavannahMick,

    -      Do you get any error messages other than the ones mentioned in the event viewer?

    -      What exactly is the issue you’re facing with Windows updates?

    -      What’s the event in the event viewer classified as? Is iterror, warning, or information?

Depending on the severity, events are classified as error, warning, or information.

An error is a significant problem, such as loss of data. A warning is an event that isn't necessarily significant, but might indicate a possible future problem. An information event describes the successful operation of a program, driver, or service.

    Refer:

What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?

If the latest Windows updates were successfully installed on your computer, it indicates that there aren’t any issues.

    Hope this information helps.
