Thanks for the suggestion of rolling back the driver. However, I found that once I opened the device manager, I was able to re-enable the device to work properly and it was unnecessary for me to actually roll the driver back.
Windows 7 Update Disabling Intel My WiFi Technology Adapter
I recently purchased a Vaio laptop for the WiDi capabilities. Out of the box it worked as advertised, but after a round of various updates from Microsoft and Sony, the WiDi becomes disabled. The message that appears is: My Intel WiFi Technology disabled, please restart your computer. Another message that appears is: My Intel WiFi Technology: Adapter Not Found. I've poured over all the vendor community postings (Intel, Netgear, Sony) regarding this issue but no one seems to have come up with a solution. The only method for recovery is to do a complete system restore which puts everything back to factory settings. Once I do that, it works for a little bit until the updates download again. I've tried turning off the auto updates and I've ensured that all the latest drivers were installed (even after doing a complete system restore) but nothing seems to prevent the adapter from becoming disabled. I don't have any issues with the WiFi, only the WiDi. This issue seems to be affecting all brands with WiDi capabilities. I'm not sure if it's affecting only Intel i5s or both i5s and i7s. Any one have any other suggestions?

2012-09-22T13:02:09+00:00 This worked for me, thanks princess!
- Right click "MY COMPUTER">Opens "COMPUTER MANAGEMENT(LOCAL)"
- Under "SYSTEM TOOLS" click "DEVICE MANAGER"
- click "NETWORK ADAPTERS"
- right click "INTEL CENTRINO ADVANCED-N 6250 AGN"
- Select "DISABLE"
- Select "ENABLE"
There two Microsoft WiFi Miniport Adapters associated with the 6250 these disappear upon disabling the 6250 and reappear upon enabling. I suspect this may be where the trouble with MS updates comes into play.

2010-06-29T22:58:15+00:00 - Roll back the driver: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/roll-back-driver-windows-7.htm
- Hide the unneeded, troublesome driver update that Windows Update keeps installing based on your Automatic Updating settings (e.g., 'Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates').

2010-09-12T18:20:07+00:00 open up your device manager and make sure that the system didn't "turn off" your adapter. If everything appears to be enabled, the disable your wireless card and re-enable it, that has seemed to work for me when I've had this issue happen. I won't agree with Windows updates being the cause of the issue only because at the time I started to have the problem, I hadn't done any updates and now that I have the most current updates for both my laptop (which is Toshiba) and Windows, I haven't run into that issue.

2010-09-12T09:57:09+00:00 I am having the same issue on a brand new Sony VAIO EB. The wireless transmission to the TV was working when I bought it, but sometimes, during some MSFT update the connection to the tv stopped. I now have a message that says Intel: wifi technology adapter not found. I contacted Sony via their chat system, they had me load two updates from Intel which I did, but no luck.
It seems that Microsoft has an update that causes it to stop working. When the computer is starting up the icon shows enabled, but sometime after all the programs load it goes to adapter not found.
This sucks as this is the reason I bought the machine in the first place.
