I have Windows XP and Word docs end in .doc extension. How do I save a .docx document to .doc? I can't read .docx documents.

There are essentially two solutions to your problem.

    1. Ask the sender to send you a .doc file instead of a .docx file.

Although the sender is using Word 2007 or 2010, where the default is

..docx, he can choose "Save as," and generate a .doc file instead.

    1. Go to

    or http://tinyurl.com/y5a879

and install the "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel,

    and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats"
