    Hi,

    1. How are you trying to connect your BlackBerry to your computer? Are you using a USB cable or via Bluetooth?
    2. Could you provide us the exact error message that you encounter?

    3. What is the status of this device in Device Manager?

Refer to the links below for help on device manager.

    Open Device Manager

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Open-Device-Manager

    Method 1.

Check if there are any drivers available for BlackBerry 9700 through Windows update. You may also try updating this device through Device Manager.

You may also refer to the articles below which explain about updating the hardware drivers.

Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

    Method 2.

First you need to install the BlackBerry Desktop Software from the link below and then try connectiong the BlackBerry with your Windows computer using the USB cable. Browse to the following link and from the drop down menu choose the first option:

BlackBerry Desktop Software v5.0 Service Pack 1 and then press next and download it. Install this software and check if it works.

You may also download the e-manuals for your BlackBerry for additional information.

Important Note: Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk.

    Hope this helps.
