HI,
Have you also tried turning off your anti-virus software and then trying the download?

I'm getting a extremely annoying "Unable to open this Internet site. The Requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later" error message every time I try to download something. I noticed this when I went to download the newest version of DirectX. then I tried downloading Silverlight. And NOTHING will download. It won't even let me select a download location before it pops up. I am running all of the latest programs. IE8, Windows 7. Norton Antivirus 2010. Newest audio/video drivers. Somebody please help.

Hi
Is this is only for one particular site or you basically have No functional Internet capacity?
Is it for general surfing or Just download?
Did you try switching off and rebooting?
Jack-MVP Windows Networking. WWW.EZLAN.NET
I am having the exact same problem. It is with any website and I have tried rebooting and turning off my antivirus software (I think). I have recently upgraded from Vista to 7 and also IE8. I have also recently added (thru my AT&T account) Mcafee security center. Should I just uninstall Mcafee completely? The error reads "Windows Internet Explorer: Unable to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." That makes me think it is IE8.
