Sticky Note can't be deleted

I have a particular Sticky Note that seems to be stuck somewhere on my laptop which is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Edition.  I can create new notes, delete all other existing notes, etc., but this one particular note can't be opened or deleted.  When I select it from a search box, a new blank note opens (rather than opening that note).  A screen shot of what I mean can be viewed at http://www.zumodrive.com/share/6xRWOTNmMz.  Note I crossed out the names in the memo title for anonymity reasons, but you'll see the note is stuck there from July 8th, and you'll note a new blank note which opens if I click it.  I hope I've adequately explained the problem I'm having with this screen shot.  It's kind of a strange problem to describe in writing, particularly because I doubt that most people use a search box like this to view a list of their Sticky Notes, but rather probably just open the Sticky Notes to see all their notes at once.  If I can provide any further details, please advise, and I'll be happy to do so.  I'd greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can offer.  Thanks!

    Hi yeay,

I would suggest that you try deleting the sticky note from the source location of the sticky notes from the specific user account.

The AppDatafolder in the below step is a hidden folder, try the below step to unhide it and later try the steps mentioned.

    a)   Open a Windows Explorer window.

    b)   Click on the  Organize button

    c)    Click on  Folder and Search Options.

    d)   Select the radio button  “Show hidden files, folders and drives

    e)   Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) box.

    f)    Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.

    g)   Click  Apply and  OK

Try the below step to delete the sticky note.

    a)   Navigate to the following location.

    b)   Click on Start and type C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

    c)    In the Stick notes folder you will find a file called  StickyNotes.snt

    d)   You will need the file named StickyNotes.snt

Note:   If you delete StickyNotes.sntfile this will delete all the sticky notes present on the computer event the new ones.

Make sure that you backup any newly created sticky notes.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello Halima,

My case is a bit different. I can't delete the sticky notes by clicking the x button as it used to be.

Deleting the StickyNotes.snt works for me. But, it would be complicated whenever I want to delete the note, I need to open the Users's folder and its subfolders.

Do you have any idea to fix it, enabling me to delete the notes by clicking the x button.

    Your help is highly appreciated.

Hi, I also have a problem with sticky notes. It doesnt work anymore. Everytime I start windows I directly get a warning message saying: Meta Data for some of the notes has been corrupt. sticky notes has restored them to defaults"

When I click OK I get a new screen saying" Sticky Notes has stopped working" I can then choose to restart the program. This does'nt help.

Is there a way to completly delete this program? I never use it anyway and everytime several warning messages is quitte annoying.

    Regards,

    Guido(Singapore)
