On Windows XP, one could display two Windows Explorer windows at the same time. I need this option for organzingfiles, moving folders or specfic items, etc.

I cannot figure out how to do this (i.e. display 2 window explorers at the same time) in Windows 7.

Also , how to make the Window Explrer window smaller.

Right-click on the Explorer icon in the Taskbar and click on Windows Explorer. That will open a second Explorer window.

Ctrl+N will open a new explorer window with the same contents as the first.

This does not just work in windows10. It used to work in previous version?????? One has to activate a file then right click on the start then click on file explorer - this is silly!!

Take a look at this tool:

The OP doesn't need a "tool" - Windows will open a second Explorer window natively.
