    Hi Steve,

No luck yet. I did as you said in your last reply. The answer I am getting now is: The type of the file system is FAT32. Enter current Volume Label for drive C:

I right clik My Computer - click Properties and see  Local Disk C:

where else do I find the current volumen label? If I click on OPEN-I get SYSTEM TASKS and there it says:

    Drive_C ( C : )  Local Disk  File System FAT32

The volume label is the string that appears before "(C:)" when you view the disk in My Computer.  For example, if it says "Local Disk (C:)", the volume label is "Local Disk".

Click Start > My Computer .  Right-click the C: drive and click Properties .  A window will open, with the volume label in the title bar and also in a box at near the top of the window.

For example, that window's title bar on my computer says "Windows XP (C:) Properties", indicating that the volume label is "Windows XP".

    You're welcome, JK.

Don't format the drive, which will erase everything.  You want to convert it to NTFS, not format it.  This command should work:

       convert C: /fs:ntfs

    If it doesn't, try this:

       %SystemRoot%\System32\convert C: /fs:ntfs
