HP Scanjet 5200C - unable to install in Windows 7
We have whole bunch of HP Scanjet 5200C scanners in every offices at every floor and at branch offices. We are only able to make this device work in Windows XP, never work in Vista, neither is Win 7.
All drivers and updated are downloaded from HP site, most recently on 6-9-2010:

We are also unable to install this device in Win 7 - in neither USB nor parallel port.
- sj662en.exe (driver ver 2.02 12-12-2001) installed OK.
- sj661mu.exe (driver update ver 2.02 210-18-2001)
run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3
Fatal Error - setup is unable to continue
(note: in Vista, the error is : "This program is not windows (98) compatible)
- co5319.exe (ver 1.0 2-19-2004)
The update cannot be completed. (note: same error in Vista)
- sj630en.exe (ver 1.0, 2-19-2004)
Installed OK. Restart computer. (note: in Vista - this operating system is not supported)
- sj700en.exe (ver 1.0 1-16-2002)
installed OK.
When starting the HP Scanjet Precision Scan programs, Win 7 show "scanner not responding" (note: same at Vista)
Your advices are much appreciated.

2010-06-12T16:03:48+00:00 Yes, at every copier room corners at every floor and branch offices, we now have old XP running the HP scanners. This is a GREAT reminder of NEVER buy any HP stuff because once you buy their stuff they do forget about drivers (same experiences with their CD burners years ago) or rely on Microsoft to give much drivers supports (same go for Vista).

Any other simple scan program to work around this problem?
Also, we are in the process of upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits systems.

As far as I know, there is no other scan program.
The choice is simple. Get Vuescan for each PC, upgrade all of the scanners, leave one PC with an older OS on each floor and make people walk to use it or get an industrial solution like this..http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/computing/peripherals/scanners/production/fi-6770.html

Support ended with XP but Vuescan will work and multi-user licenses are available..
