I have a desktop windows 7 64 bit

Since my last format my logitech dinovo media desktop is not responding.  This is because the broadcom bluetooth 2.1 + edr usbe device device is not recognized.

I have tried the following:

  • reformat the PC
  • updated to the dinovo latest software
  • run microsoft online diagnostics; it has identified the problem (broadcom bluetooth 2.1 + edr usb not working) so it re installed the latest drivers
  • download the latest update from broadcom website

neither of the above solve the problem

To ensure that the bluetooth usb is not faulty i have used it on another pc and it was identified installed and worked fine

so after trying everything i could think

any help/ideas how to get around would be greatly appreciated

kind regards

    Hi GeBi2010,

Usually this error may occur when one of the drivers that the device needs does not start. If many drivers are being used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine the one that failed.

    Step 1:

The most common resolution is to update the drivers that are associated with the failing device. Before that we need to remove the drivers related to the device completely.

    a. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, then type ‘Device Manager’ without quotes in the search box.‌

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. Look for the problem device; right click on it and select Uninstall.

    d. Place a check mark for "delete driver software for this device" when prompted.

    e. Restart the computer.

    f. Driver entries will be removed completely.

    g. Now boot the computer to the desktop and try to download the drivers for your device from the manufacturer’s website.

Access the below link for more information on Device Manager:

    Open Device Manager:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-Device-Manager

**Step 2:**You may also try below steps to ensure drivers for the device has been removed from Device Manager:

    a. Click Start -> type ‘cmd’ without quotes in the search box.

    b. Right-click Command Prompt, select ‘Run as administrator’. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

    c. At the command prompt, type the following commands (press ENTER after each):

    SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1

devmgmt.msc d. When in Device Manager, click View then Show hidden devices**** e. Expand the category containing your device, and then double-click the name of your device.**** f. Click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall.****g. If there is a Delete the driver software for this device box, check it (make sure you have internet connectivity so that you may reacquire these drivers). Read and Confirm Notification, click OK.****h. Exit Device Manager, and restart your computer.

    Hope this helps.

Regards, Manasa P – Microsoft Support.

I don't have the directory "Bluetooth Connection Assistant ... " in regedit - i renamed the file and it has replicated itself. I tried to remove the setpoint software and reboot - nothing. Can't' roll the driver back and system restore does nothing! Anyone else have this issue?

NOTRAB - Do you have a KB# for the update?

I can't seem to get around the problem - have deleted all devices as per Manasa, but whenever I restart my PC, the LBTWiz.exe starts and hangs. The drivers from the Broadcomm site (SetupBtwDownloadSE.exe v. 6.3.0.200) won't install w/o the device plugged in, but when I plug in Windows 7 outsmarts me by failing to properly install the drivers first...

The stupid thing about the Logitech software is that before Windows starts, the kb & mouse work perfectly. I can set bios options etc. But under Windows it chokes - how ridiculous.

I agree - it seems to have been the update and it is now back to normal.

I think this is related to a windows update that was published on 7/28 to for broadcom bus controller and ports, etc.  I rolled back my driver in control panel, and my logitech keyboard and mouse is now working.
