    Start | All Programs | Windows Media Player. Right Click | Send To | Desktop (create shortcut).

    I wouldn't think it would. That's why there are Windows 10 forums.

    Start | All Apps. Right click on Windows Media Player and Pin To Start. You can then drag it from the Start Menu to the desktop.

    Doesn't work in windows 10, yet again microsoft make it hard to do the simplest stuff!
