Hi salsarosie,

• Which Program are you using to view the pictures?

BUP (Back UP) is the filename extension of some files stored on video DVDs.

The BUP file is a backup of the IFO file on a DVD, which contains the information about the organization of tracks, menus, chapters, subtitles on the disc. The BUP files are used in the event that the corresponding IFO file is unreadable, perhaps due to a scratch on the surface of the disc.

Other DVD files include VOB files

Step 1: You may try to manually change the file extension to jpeg.

You may try the following steps and check whether you can resolve the issue.

1. Open the files whose names you want to change.

  1. Click Edit and then click Select All.
  2. Right click on the first file in the list and then click Rename.
  3. The name of the first file is highlighted and ready to be edited.
  4. Type the name you want to use to identify all the files in the folder. Choose a name that allows you to identify the files from this folder at a later date.

NOTE: Be sure to type the file extension after the file name.

  1. Press Enter to rename all the files in the folder and add sequential numbering to the file names.

You may have to also check with 3rd party software to convert to Jpeg.

Note:  Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk.
