Alfa AWUS036NH (RT3070 usb) driver disabled

Hello

I have an Alfa Networks USB wifi card model AWUS036NH using a Ralink RT3070 chipset inside.

I´ve tried to install my card using the included CD in Windows 7 Ultimate 32bits. I´ve also tried downloading drivers from Alfa web page and Ralink webpage for my usb card.

All is installed but the card is disabled in Windows "lan conections". When I click on ENABLE it, it continues disabled. If I click on DIAGNOSE it sais that there´s a problem with the driver that is incompatible.

I don´t know what else to do because I´ve also change my usb cable but the problem continues. I installed in a Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bits and the same problem with my card.

There´s a thing I consider: the blue light in the usb card is blinking or is active, I think that means that the card is working but I can´t use it.

Please help me to resolve this.

Thanks

Matias

    Hi,

Follow the methods mentioned below and check whether you are able to resolve the issue.

    Method 1:

Plug the usb (Alfa AWUS036NH (RT3070)) in another computer and check whether it works fine.

    Method 2:

Plug the usb in another slot and check whether it is being detected.

    Method 3:

It might be that the driver that you have installed is corrupt so I would suggest you to uninstall the driver from the device manager and download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and install it on the system.

To uninstall the drivers manually from the device manager and reinstall it follow the steps mentioned below.

    1.      Click on Start and type Device Manager in the Start search box and press Enter.

    2.      Locate for the graphic card and uninstall it from the system.

Note: Check if there is any other software related to the driver is listed in programs and features if yes then uninstall it from there or while uninstalling the drivers from device manager check mark the box which says also delete drivers software and then proceed uninstalling

    3.      From the manufacture’s website search for the drivers and download it on the system and then install. Check the link mentioned.

    http://www.alfa.com.tw/in/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=AWUS036NH&Category=0#Download

If this does not resolve your issue then contact the manufacturer.

    Thank you and Regards.

Just go to the device's properties page and disable the NDIS Kaspersky client filter if it is installed. That did it for several people i know.

    Wow ... yes AWUS036NH is ... a VIDEO CARD ... LOL.

Anyway ... the issue you are having is actually nothing to do nor will be resolved by following the "advice" you received in the previous reply.

The problem actually lays in the security software. if you repair or reinstall whatever you are using (zone-alarm, eset, kaspersky ... or whatever else) and let the software start from fresh settings, it will work just fine. (by the way ... i recommend you get the drivers from RaLink ... rather than using those from Alpha's site).
