Dungeon Siege loaded and plays fine, I saved and quit after about two hours of play. When I went back in to play it said it had no saved games. This also happened with the game Spore. They play fine, but why won't the games save?

Try to right-click on game shortcut and select "Run as administrator". Try to save the game. Exit the game and run it again. Try to load your saves. If everything works OK now, then it's clear that it's problem with permissions to game saves folder.
