    Hey tonybaskill,

Is ScanSnap Manager running correctly, i.e. icon is displayed as blue S ?

Here are some checklists I would like you to go through.

    1. Ensure that you’ve not installed ScanSnap Manager in the root directory.

ScanSnap Manager may not function properly. Specify a folder on a local disk as the installation folder.

    2. When installing ScanSnap Manager, first log on as Administrator.

    3. Be sure to restart your computer after installing ScanSnap Manager.

The re-boot registers ScanSnap to the system.

    4. Uninstall ScanSnap Manager and reinstall ScanSnap Manager.

Note: ScanSnap Manager is not installed properly if it has not been uninstalled completely.

After the uninstallation completes, download the updates from:

I have a Fujitsu Scansnap S1500.  I've had it since February 2011 and it's worked great - until this morning.  I tried to scan and the button just blinked at me.  There's nothing stuck in my scanner and there's no sound (like the wheels attempting to turn) when I push the scan button.  Any thoughts?  I tried to call the customer service, but that was not helpful at all... no option to talk to a live technical service person.

    Hi Peter,

Please create a new post rather than following up on this one as this is a very old post.

You can follow the steps given below to fix the problem though.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the software should help.

    Step 1:

Follow the steps from the Knowledge Base article below to completely uninstall ScanScap S1500 software from the computer.

How do I completely uninstall the ScanSnap S1300 or S1500 from MS Windows?

    http://www.fuzeqna.com/fujitsu\_support/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=338&catid=47%2C+47&sortmethod=datemodified

    Step 2:

Download and install the scanner software from the link below.

    http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/ssfaq/setup-pg.html

    Hope this fixes the problem.

I have the problem about "  icon is not displayed as blue S"

do you know how to fix it ?

    thanks a lot

    ScanSnap recovery tool

    1)      Go to the “Start” menu

    2)      Click on “All apps” at the bottom of the page

    3)      Scroll down to ScanSnap Manager

    4)      Click on the ScanSnap SUPPORT TOOL

    5)      Choose the first option – “Recover Scansnap Connection” option

    6)      Press the “Recover button”

    7)      Follow the instructions

Which will tell you to shut down ScanSnap Manager

Once that happens the program fixes itself

I had the scanner on and the blue light was blinking when I did this recovery

Open scan snap manager and you should be all set.

    Shinmila-

I am having a problem with the Scansnap S1500 Manager software also.  When I go to uninstall the software it is not appearing on the program list.  When I try to reinstall, I get an error message saying that the program is already installed.  When I try to run the program, I get an error message saying that "You do not have the authority for the installation folder.  Make the selected folder writable."  If I try to scan, the blue light on the scanner flashes, but nothing else happens. I have tried to set all of the folders to "writable" however, the folders change back to read only when I go back to their properties.  I have only one user set up on my PC as an administrator.  I hope you can help.  I am hoping it was just a bad install and that if I can uninstall the software and reinstall, everything will work.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Peter
