32 bit program has 2gb limit on 64 bit os

I am running windows 7 64bit with 8gb ram and I am using calculix, which is a 32 bit program.

Some of the calculations that are involved are rather memory intensive.

Is there a way to allocate more of the theoretically available 4gb that would be available for 32 bit program to the program itself? (Especially since the OS should, in theory, be able to run on the other 4gb) I remember that before windows 7 on the 32 bit os you could set a 3gb switch in the boot.ini file to up the limit somewhat, but don't know how that can be accomplished under the compatibility mode. I assume that no such flag exists in the 64 bit os as a whole as that would make no sense.

    Hi

The code in the program can not address more memory.
