    1.   What exactly do you mean by ‘lighten up a photo’?

    2.   Are you referring to increasing the brightness?

    Paint (mspaint.exe) is a very rudimentary image manipulation program.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Paint

    For photo editing, you need a more sophisticated program.
