Ideas:When I initially installed Windows 7, I did not load SATA/AHCI/Raid drivers and would like to do so now - is it possible?  I haven't found a way yet.

Thanks in advance,

Me neither. If you change to AHCI your drives won't recognize the new format. That's why I still use the IDE that came with my motherboard, an ASUS P5N-D. I have very good performance results.

    Hi trdavidson,

I'm not aware of a way to create RAID setup without a reinstall of the operating system.

Nope - pretty much meant what I said:

I need to install the motherboard ahci/raid drivers on an existing installation of Windows 7.  When I attempt to alter BIOS from native IDE to AHCI or SATA/RAID, Windows fails to start as the drive is no longer recognized even though it is connected to the mobo via SATA connect cable.

    Thanks!

If you mean you wish to impliment a raid array, or move you drive to a different controler, you would need to read your motherboard manual as to how to use AHCI raid, usually it means amending Bios settings
