Problem with a driver

Anonymous
2010-04-08T19:40:28+00:00

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop NB L510-S4318B, Window 7 home premium. I am having a problem where my Laptop suddenly

crashes and restart by itself - and I am frustrated trying to search for the problem, and every time I start up my computer

it display driver compatibility error and the driver needed to be disabled by window. What I suspected is this driver could

be the cause of my problem.

The info what the error is as follow

Driver : Tages Protection

Publisher: Tages SA

Location: Not Available

Although there is solution stated, that is by updating the driver via online but I am afraid whether it safe or not. I have

check some background about this so called Tages Protection it seems pretty legit with the websites and their claim of

being so called the anti piracy software but I am still not convince. So I thought instead of updating the it, I try to

uninstall it but the problem is when I search for it the driver is nowhere . It is really frustrating knowing there is a

problem but when you try to search for the problem it is nowhere to be found. I even use a software 'Your Unin-staller' to

search and eliminate this problem but no avail. I even try to solve the problem by going through the control panel and use

the action center to find solution for all problem but still it does not solve the problem.

I hesitate to use window restore as it could remove many my newly installed software and some of the software I already

loss the key.

Please could anybody help me and tell me how to find this f***ing Tages Protection driver and uninstalling it.

STOP! STOP! STOP!   TAGES is a game protection driver that is designed to try and prevent games from being run without the original DVD or CD disk in the computer drive.   Cheesy Russian and other foreign software houses use it -   the driver is defective and will interfere with computer.

DELETE the Drivers and any crappy computer games you have put on your you pc.   (games like Silverfall, ATARI games, any Russian made software and anything from Poland, Eastern Europe etc.)

Good Luck and don't be a sucker for cheap war games from Russia!

The following thread has a link to updated drivers for the "Tages Security Protection" driver:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/818cffec-7809-4724-ba7d-bc85024c0794

The present version is 5.5.7.2 which should work with Windows 7.

However this may not be what is causing the crashing issue.

It may help to take a look at the minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder.

Can you zip up the minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and make available (provide link) via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

The following link has information on using Windows Live SkyDrive:

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145Warning

I am sorry this is all I managed to dig in, there  are many more but I don't know which one  is relevant. Hope this could help.

Is there any possibilities that these crashes is caused by insufficient RAM?

Or it is due to compatibility issues ?- but when I open the device manager I could find anything wrong with all installed hardware

But for certain heating up is not the reason for the crashes.

Thanks any way.........I will try to search for the error in safe mode.

    Hi,

What is the make and model of your graphics card?

Check in Even viewer for errors when the computer crashes. Post the result here so that we can help you troubleshoot the problem.

     1. Open Event Viewer by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel , clicking System and Security , clicking Administrative Tools , and then

double-clicking Event Viewer . ‌ If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    1. Click an event log in the left pane.
    2. Double-click an event to view the details of the event.

Refer this link for information on event viewer:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

    Open device manager.

Go to start and type in device manager in the search box and press enter.
