Original Title: Mouse Cursor Disappears

My mouse cursor disappears randomly while using Windows 7 64-bit.  This may happen when using IE8, as well as other programs.  I have to reboot in order to get it back.  This appears to be a common problem.  Is there a solution?

Thanks

Did you install the Windows 7 device drivers for your make and model. If not then go to the manufactures support web site and download the Windows 7 drivers to a folder on your PC and then start by installing the chipset/motherboard drivers, followed by the USB, SATA, LAN, Audio and all remaining drivers.

Also check the Graphics card manufacture's download site for the most recent Windows 7 drivers for your card.

    Hello!

I changed my mouse cursor some weeks ago, and it was not before now that I realised that it was the problem, so I changed it back to windows original cursor again.. And now it's working again.

    Hope this helps!

As soon as I updated the graphics drivers to the latest from NVIDIA the problem was completely resolved. Thanks for the multi-colored-Invisible driver help. Much appreciated.

I have a similar but not the same problem. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

I have Windows 7 Prof. edition and want to have the cursor visible all the time, but I don't want it to blink at all (I have a visual problem with blinking lights, cursors, etc.). I've gone to Control Panel > Keyboard and set the blink rate to None, and I've gone to Control Panel>Mouse settings, and made sure that Hide Pointer While Typing is not checked (thought this shouldn't be relevant to a disappearing cursor).

Even with these settings, the cursor disappears entirely when I type. I then have to search for it, or click randomly in a document (I use Word 2003) in order to make the cursor visible.

I tried repeatedly in Windows XP to prevent the same thing from happening, and never was able to. Am I fated to have a blinking cursor just to be able to see it? A nice unblinking, never-disappearing cursor would be a blessing!

Many thanks for any help with this! I spent a lot of time writing, and it would really be nice to solve this problem.
