Downloads for older (Windows 2000) mouse pointers

One of my favorite mouse pointers was the 3-D Bronze pointer. Seems to me Windows 2000 was the last OP that I remembered that had it as an option. Transferred some of the pointer files to XP but now that I have Windows 7 is there anyplace to download the 3-D Bronze pointer. Not a biggy.

Hi,

Many legacy pointers that were in previous versions of Windows were removed in Windows 7. One of these legacy pointers was the 3D Bronze Scheme.

Hope this information was helpful.

Copy all the 3d*.cu_ files and the expand.exe file from the Windows CD to an empty directory

    Run expand.exe *.* c:\windows\cursors

    Change to c:\windows\cursors

    Ren *.cu_ *.cur

    And you're done

more than two years late to the party, but no, Shekhar, your post didn't help. We can all tell that MS removed the cursor themes, just from the fact they aren't there...

What inquiring minds, and those of us frustrated with the "dumbed-down" options left to us want to know is: How the F can we REPLACE or IMPORT a working "3D Bronze Cursor" scheme to Windows 7?!? Seems that every 'Microsoft support engineer'/'Microsoft MVP'/'Windows Expert'/'Microsoft Community Moderator' just regurgitates the same thing: "They were removed, they're not there anymore." DUH!! Show us how to bring them back! And I don't want to Customize every cursor type manually, I want a quick and easy way to install a scheme and make it work the first time, every time. Too much to ask? It certainly seems to be so.

Try this page, I have made a new 3D bronze scheme using icons here: No connection.

Downloading this file does seem to install a unzip program called 7Zip which I then uninstalled. Be aware.

    Have fun!

Why doesn't Microsoft put them back? I have been looking for something other that the aero scheme since I switched to Windows 7. I liked the 3-D bronze pointer best. To just say that they were removed is not helpful.
