Config.sys is a DOS/Win9x file. It is not used in Windows 7.

How do I edit config.sys in Windows 7? I need to change my
Files= and Buffers=, but when I run sys.edit, it won't
allow me to save the changes in config.sys. Any advise?

2010-10-08T00:07:46+00:00 edit the config.nt which is use for the MSDOS emulation part of Windows.
If you use a 64Bit Windows run it with DOSBox and edit the DOSBox config files.

2011-04-25T15:02:40+00:00 You will need to navigate to c:\windows\system32 in Windows Explorer. Scroll down till you find systedit.exe and right click on it. Choose Run as Administrator. edit edit the autoexec.bat or the config.sys file. Then choose Save. Exit the sysedit.exe command and reboot your computer.

Open NOTEPAD by using "run as administrator" option
In notepad choose file... open... and browse to C:\config.sys
edit and save config.sys
Opening notepad "as administrator" is the key to allowing you to save to the root of c:\
