Original Title - auto play options![](http://i4.social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/resources/images/trans.gif?cver=2.13.0068.4)

I have windows 7.  On auto play when I insert a music cd, my auto play box never asks me if I want to use windows media player to burn rip or anything else.  I used to have Nero but have deleted it ( I think )  from my computer but it still comes up in my auto play box.  How do I get windows media player to come up in my auto play box?

Try setting WMP as the default media player again, through  Control PanelProgramsDefault ProgramsSet your default programs . Does that bring the WMP options back?

    Hi lowndes06,

I would suggest you to change the AutoPlay settings and then check.

Follow these steps to specify what should happen when you insert different types of digital media into your computer.

    a. Open AutoPlay by clicking the  Start button, and then clicking  Control Panel. In the search box, type auto play, and then clickAutoPlay.

    b. Under  Media, find the type of media that you want to change the AutoPlay setting for.

    c. Click the action that you want AutoPlay to take when you insert that type of media into your computer.

You can select actions like Play audio CD using Windows Media Player for audio CD, Burn an audio Cd using Windows Media Player for Bland CD, etc.

    d. Click  Save.

Do you already see WMP's actions again in the AutoPlay box? If not, you can try turning WMP off and then back on again in Control PanelProgramsTurn Windows features on or off .

To completely remove Nero, I suggest that you give the  Nero General CleanTool a try.

thanks for the help-but in my auto play, I do not have an option to burn cds using windows media. The only option I have to burn cds is to use "Nero to burn cds"  I have deleted Nero from my computer but it still shows in the auto play box.
