What programs come with Windows 7 Starter?

I understand that Windows does not include Office.  What I want to know is what it does come with.  Does it come with calculator, textpad, card games, an internet browser, some program to make my webcam work, mail, etc., or in other words, will a computer that comes with Windows 7 Starter actually DO anything?  What features are there, other than sunshine and lollypops?

    Hi

Office never came with any version of Windows. It is a standalone suit.

Calculator, textpad, card games, an Internet browser are available.

You can download Windows Live 2011 and have email and web cam applications too.

This page has a list of features that are not supported by Starter.

Correct. No version of Windows ever has.

What I want to know is what it does come with.  Does it come with calculator,

    Yes.

    textpad,

    Do you mean "Notepad"? Yes.

    card games,

    Yes.

    an internet browser,

    Yes.

some program to make my webcam work,

    No.

    mail, etc.,

    No.

or in other words, will a computer that comes with Windows 7 Starter actually DO anything?  What features are there, other than sunshine and lollypops?

Very little. And there's nothing special about Windows 7 in this

regard. Windows is an operating system, not a bunch of application

programs. In general, you need to get your own applications and

install them. In my view, that's good, not bad, since it keeps down

the price of Windows, and lets you choose what application programs

you want, rather than having any forced upon you.
