Original Title - Can't uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support!!!

I'm trying to update my iTunes and iTouch and while doing so, it failed and said I needed to uninstall the Apple Mobile Device Support and totally reinstall the iTunes.  Anyway, I can uninstall everything except the Apple Mobile Device Support - I get a message that says a fatal error occurred and it can't uninstall.  Apple told me it was a Windows issue and to contact you for assistance.  I've restarted and everything else an still can't remove this app.

(I'm running Windows XP Professional)

    Fixed the issue for me:

I just went through a problem with Apple Mobile Device Support as well.  I kept uninstalling it then right before it reached 100% it started back tracking back to 0%.  I have windows 7.

Control Panel --> Uninstall a Program

Right Click Apple Mobile Device Support --> Change

A window will pop up asking if you want to Repair or Remove.  I said Repair

Once its finished repairing, go back to Control Panel --> Uninstall a Program

Double click or right click, uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.

It showed up after it said it finished the install but when I right clicked on it windows said it was already uninstalled and removed it from the list.

Hope this helps you like it helped me.  I would imagine there is another way to get the Repair/Remove apple option screen by running some .exe so you can try to hunt that down if you have an older OS.

I was able to follow for the most part, but still can't get Apple Mobile Device Support to remove - keep getting the fatal error message.  I was unable to uninstall all of the other apple programs.  Very frustrating!!!
