How to add and delete image files from MP3 files for use in media centre

I am currently putting together a compilation CD for my company and the bands have sent their MP3 through to me. However one has a picture attached to it and media centre now uses this as the album art and art for other songs too. How can I remove this image? And how do I add my own?

On XP you could use the advanced tag editor, can't seem to fathom it out on windows 7 yet.

Any Ideas on how to do this?

Thanks

Chris

    Hi Chris,

If you want to remove the mp3 album art/images, you’ll have to first configure Windows Explorer to show hidden and protected Operating System files.

Method 1: To remove the album art from the location where mp3 files are stored

**Step 1:**Show Hidden Files in Windows

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Show-hidden-files

**Step 2:**Remove the album art from the location where mp3 files are stored

Open the folder that contains the mp3 album, and delete the AlbumArt_{GUID}_Large.jpg, AlbumArt_{GUID}_Small.jpg and Folder.jpg images.

Method 2: Use a third party utility

If the album art still appears for an mp3 file or album, that could be coming from the pictures embedded into the mp3 file, and you need an ID3 tag editor to remove them. You can use your favorite search engine to find a utility that does the job for you.

    For your reference:

Add or edit Media information in Windows Media Player.

Note: Since Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center share the same library, the information given above in the link applies to Windows Media Center as well.

Hope this information is helpful and let me know if you need any further assistance.

There is no need to use an advanced tag editor in Windows 7/8/...: you may employ a simple free app called taghycardia for the purpose of adding and deleting album art images to/from your mp3s. The program traverses your music folders downloading images whenever they're missing and inserting into mp3s or removing art from the files depending on the mode of operation you choose.
