Hi,

I've tried unintalling/installing and starting/stopping .Net Framework 3.5.1 in Windows 7.  I can't get rid of the GFXUI error after I log in. I tried going through the tips I found in this forum related to this error and have not been able to get rid of it. Any other tips anyone might have?

Error: "GFXUI has stopping working..."

    Hi JKTang,

    1. Any recent software/hardware changes on your computer which led to this issue?

    Cause of the issue:

This error comes up with Intel GUI Graphics interface. You need to reinstall your Intel drivers. Some of the users have also stated that it could be an issue with the .NET Framework.

Refer to the link below about this error on Intel forums.http://communities.intel.com/message/94385;jsessionid=CCDC232665E038CDADA1FC1732A00D8D.node7COM

    Method 1:

In the meantime, follow this and check.

Download and install the drivers manually from the website.

    a. Go to Start and right-click on Computers and select Manage. This will bring the Computer Management window, now on the left sidebar select Device Manager.

    b. Then go to Display Adapters and right click on its name and click on uninstall.

Note: To reinstall the drivers right click on your card’s name and finally click Update Driver Software

    c. You have two options here; click the option that reads, "Search automatically for updated driver software".

If the issue still exists uninstall the driver and download it from the manufacturer's website and install it.

Download the drivers from the link below:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

    Refer:

Update a driver for hardware that is not working properlyhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardwarehttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Automatically-get-recommended-drivers-and-updates-for-your-hardware

    Method 2:

You can also use the Event Viewer to look for information about the issue.

    Refer:

How to view error messages in Event Viewerhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/947321

You can check for information about the issue by the time it occurred, and post that information here to help us narrow down where to focus.

I've finally just resolved MY GfxUI issue... was getting the same on Win7 Home Pro. I tried all the things I've seen elsewhere - changing permissions on .net stuff, trying the automatic update of the display driver, uninstalling .net -- nothing worked until I downloaded a completely new driver from Intel. So, I have a Dell Inspiron Desktop 580. Device manager shows the display driver as Intel HD Graphics.

I downloaded "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator for Win7*64" - the filename is Win7Vista_64_152110.exe and it installed the Intel HD Graphics driver 8.15.10.2291 (dated Jan 27, 2011) and THAT stopped my problem, at least.

    Hope it helps someone else.
