    Hello,

If you are still not finding Microsoft Security Essentials, then try to go in My computer, Local Disc (C:), Program Files, look for Microsoft security Essentials folder and look for the**.exe**. Right click on it then send it to desktop shortcut.

    Hope this helps,

    Andrew

Do you see it in the Notification Area? Right click on a blank spot | Properties | Customize Notification Icons and adjust the setting for the MSE icon.

If you must have it on the Desktop: Start | All Programs. Right click on MSE and create a Desktop shortcut.

As others said. If you need to create a new shortcut, here is the exe path:

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\msseces.exe"

    (This is for MSE v2)

For my win 7 computer, there is an extra file/folder to get into first to find the program.

Computer – C Drive – Program Files – Windows Security Client – Page half way down the list to find this entry, below the folder icons :  msseces.exe  (all small letters)  That’s it. Click or right click to get shortcut to desktop or pin to taskbar.
