Windows 7 32bit

Under computer/hard disk drives it shows 2 hard drives

Tl1975657WOD (C:)

Local Disk (Q:)

I have nothing plugged in any ports, I occasionally use a external hard drive which is identified as #@&&( @ (F:)

Here is my issue: This (Q:) suddenly appeared, I can not move it, access, delete, open, copy, rename, or format it.

I right click go to properties it shows it as full, Used space:0bytes, Free space:0bytes, Capacity:0bytes

I go to Security it says To continue you must be admin user with permission to view this objects security properties: I am Admin, I click continue, under Current owner it says: Unable to display current owner.

So here it is this new Local (Q:) drive that has no capacity, current owner, I am unable to do anything with this drive. i do realize it does not exist so What is it, where did it come from, and HOW DO I REMOVE IT?

I have rebooted, basically done all the normal and advanced things to remove, delete, access, take ownership of and can not do anything with it..

i have not installed any new programs or devices, i have  anti virus and fire wall running, I get no warnings from any programs about it !!

I am very puzzled... Can anyone help me out here???     thanks,

                          Robert

This drive is used by the Click 'n Run Version of Office 2010.

If you have installed Office 2010 that is what created and needs it.

Microsoft should label the drive accordingly so that we know what it's for. I spent the last hour figuring out how to remove it. Thank you for wasting my time Microsoft!

Well first off because i can not think of any other software that installs a hard drive appearing device, under disk drives!!

Then I have absolutely no control of it, I mean none, i don't like the idea of a program in stalling anything that i can not open, view, rename, delete and has no owner name, O capacity, 0 free bytes, 0used bytes, i have not had office 2010 on my pc for over 5 months, and no  traces of it....  Dominic, All the sudden there is a local disk (Q:) that has nothing to it and i can not do anything with it, I didnt know what to think except maybe someone key logged me but their program glitched, or some kind of spyware .....

          Anyways thanks Dominic

Local Disk Q is a virtual disk needed for the on-line components of Office 2010.

If you chose to install the on-line components of Office 2010, disk Q is part of that. You are not asked for detailed approval of the components of any software installation. Why should this be different?

Dominic, thanks I will research that. So I understand correctly, A version of a microsoft product (office 2010) installed a Hard disk on my PC with no value, bytes, capacity or owner and I have no control of it? Not to mention without my approval? i can not do anything with it including remove or delete it!!! I hope this is not the case !!!!
