Windows 7 "computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected Error". ??? This is a vicious cycle.

I did some research on emachine and got the manual for the computer and decided to take back to factory settings by hitting alt+F10 at restart, got the whole restore completed now I get this error . . . The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected Error. Windows Installation cannot proceed,. To install Window, click “OK” to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

This message keeps on looping whenever i restart my computer.  I did some more research on this and found something about overclocking (?).  Also found something that suggested pull some of the ram and it may help.  I pulled two ram sticks out and still got the same message.  MY computer has 6GB ram. emachine 64bit with windows 7 installed.  I had used computer for a while with no issues.  It was in storage for about 5 months then the first time I get on the web and do some searching I said i needed to update windows, 72 important updates, when I hit install it only did about 25% then froze, this was the beginning of the problems.  What is the easiest fix on this, I have pulled out the cmos battery to clear the bios, got into the recovery management and went through the whole cycle to bring back to factory settings but still get this message when it says windows will bring your computer to first time use.  thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I would suggest you to follow these ste4ps and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try booting the computer in safe mode and check if you get the same error message, here is the link:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

Try performing clean boot and check if it helps:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

NOTE: After you have finished troubleshooting, make sure you put back the computer to normal startup mode as suggested in step7 from the above KB article.

If you are trying to reset computer to factory settings then he might have to contact the computer manufacturer that is emachine, as a recovery disk or partition is needed to reset computer to factory settings which is created and provided by computer manufacturer and they will be able to assist you better.

    Hi,

I have an acer laptop with windows 7.   Ok, At the very start (Acer  name                         flashes)  push alt  and tap f 10  until u get the boot edit screen.

Mine said, ( in the command prompt)   " /noexecute=optin"   I deleted that

and typed in    system recovery      and hit enter.

That brought up another boot edit screen that gave the proper address

for the recovery partition.  I just hit  "enter"  and It brought me to the recovery

                       screen.

                       Enjoy!
