    Hi,

These are temporary files from Visual C++ redistributable package. You can move the files to a different folder or delete them.

Refer this KB article for more information:

You can also run Disk cleanup tool to delete unnecessary files on your hard disk.

    Refer this link for help:

Microsoft has nothing to do with what you install in your computer. As they said earlier most of the time this files are End user license agreement which means it came with a program you, yourself downloaded and installed in YOUR PC. Most likely i would take a guess that you downloaded XAMPP, and by the way using Linux for a personal computer is also annoying. So next time you point at someone be sure that its wasn't your own fault.

I never knowingly installed these pesky folders. One morning I woke up, and there they were. These bugs are horrible, and I'd never install them on purpose.

Obviously, the folders were put there by someone other than me, and it seems like others have this exact problem with Microsoft PCs. Now, you tell me, do you really think thousands of people just happen to download the exact same files? Or maybe, just maybe, Microsoft has a little something to do with it.

This is insanely annoying. I just found these on my 4TB external hard drive, mixed in with a bunch of other files, and then I see it again on my work computer, of which I had nothing to do with. I couldn't tell why they were there or which ones to delete. This is really irresponsible of Microsoft and is another reason to use Linux.

These files should not go anywhere but a temporary folder on C the same way any other program uses temporary files, in their own folder. No other program I've ever installed or updated does what Microsoft does randomly with programs like this one. This is really amateur and unprofessional, and needs to stop.

I'd like the Microsoft employee who decided to do it this way personally come to my computers and delete the files.
