Microsoft Nano Transceiver v2.0 - No drivers found

Hi, I am trying to install microsoft Arc Keyboard on a Win7 64bit machine (Dell Precision T3500). Machine already has Logitech Marathon M705 mouse (+ nano receiver) working nice and Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 keyboard without IntelliType software also working fine.

As per getting started instructions I plugged in MS nano receiver in a free USB port. Windows starts installing driver but fails with message No driver found in progress dialog.

I've tried uninstalling the device from device manager and rescan the hardware at no avail.

Same procedure passes fine on my laptop (Dell Latitude E6400, Win7 64bit).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi leadium,

You can install the Service Pack.

I also suggest temporarily disabling the anti-virus to see if it's causing a conflict with the installation:

Problem is resolved - for some reason usb.inf file was missing from c:\windows\inf folder. I am absolutely sure I've never deleted it, so   there must be some bug in Windows installation.

The fix was to remove the tranceiver, copy the file from another windows 7 64 bit ent machine, reboot (just in case) and plug the receiver back in - everything passed fine, MS Arc keyboard is working fine now (I'm typing on it).

MS - you have some work to do...

Man, gotta say a big thank you for this.  I had two devices this caused problems with, first was a Dell multi-media keyboard, wouldnt install at all.  Then there was the Arc Mouse, using the MS Nano Transceiver.  The USB.INF and USB.PNF files were missing from C:\Windows\INF\ on 64-bit Windows 7.

Replacing these with the same files from another W7 x64 machine worked a treat.

    EXCELLENT WORK eDEV!!

Nope. USB port works with every other USB Device. Windows recognises the "Microsoft Nano Tranceiver version 2.00" and then fails to find the driver every time, even when allowing to search for best driver on the internet. The documentation clearly says Windows XP (excluding Windows 64 bit) I am running Windows XP 32 bit.

Microsoft site always direct me to install Intellipoint but no where does it provide the driver.

So, any one out there know where I can download the Driver?

    Hi Leadium,

I would suggest you to install the IntelliType software 8.0 on the machine from the given link.

Microsoft IntelliType Pro 8.0 Keyboard Software 64bit

     http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=22e0bd6d-ae0f-4d60-bff3-3b27fdab3821

Thereafter, connect the transceiver and check if installs the drivers automatically

You may also refer the article provided below for more information.

    Hope this helps!
