Permissions For Program Files / Security - Creator Owner?

Hi,

This may sound silly but, who is 'Creator Owner'?? I have checked the Permissions For Program Files and noticed 'Creator Owner' as a user. Can someone clarify what this is? I had a little search but did not find anything of use.

I have tried removing the user, but as I anticipated it blurted a few Warning messages and the user could not be removed. Is this because they sit at the top of a hierarchy?

Thanks people,

Creator Owner is a placeholder that corresponds to whatever user is the owner of the object (file, folder) in question. Typically, whoever creates a file is also the owner of the file. If you created the file, 'Creator Owner' will be replaced with your user account's SID when doing authenticaiton.
