Hi Android,
- Does the computer detect other USB devices?
- Do you remember making any changes before the issue started?
Step 1
I would suggest you to try connecting the HTC mobile devices to a different USB port and verify if the computer detects it.
Step 2
You may also try to temporarily disable all the security software installed on the computer and verify if the HTC mobile phone is recognized on your computer. Later re-enable the security software after checking with the security software disabled and if its recognized, you may contact the security software manufacturer to verify if there are any settings that needs to be changed.
Step 3
Also access the link below and run ‘Fix it’ by accessing the link below and try verify if the HTC mobile device is detected on the computer.

Step 4
You may also try to power cycle the computer and the USB device (HTC Mobile Phone) and check if it helps. Follow the steps below to power cycle te computer.
a. Shut down the computer completely from Start button.
b. Unplug the computer power cord from the power supply.
c. Wait for about 3 minutes.
d. Restart the computer and check if the USB works fine.
If the issue persists, you may try to update the USB drivers on your desktop by accessing computer manufacturer website. Also I would recommend you to contact computer manufacturer to get the support and verify if the USB ports are working fine and if there are any updates to be installed on your computer.
Hope this helps. Let us know the results.
