Windows Boot Manager Status:0xc000000e. Can't launch Win7 Startup Repair with installation disk.

This problem surfaced after I turned my computer on last night (12/2/10). After the Windows Logo, there's a quick flash of a blue screen with a smaller black box in the middle of it with some text that I can't make out. The computer then restarts itself and gives me two options:

  1. Launch Startup Repair (Recommended)
  2. Launch Windows Normally

If I try the first, it sends me to a menu telling me how to launch the Startup repair. I follow the instructions and restart my computer with my Win7 installation disc in. When I try going back to Launch Startup Repair, it puts me back to the same screen with the instructions and says this:

Status:0xc000000e

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

So I can't start Windows at all, not even in safe mode, and I can't use the Startup Repair. The last thing I want to do is wipe my hard drive and start fresh, but I don't think I can even do that if I can't even use the installation disc. What can I do?

    HI,

    Step 1:

You may try the suggestion by ‘Chris’ in the below given link and check if that helps.

    Step 2:

You may also try to rebuild the BCD and chek cif that helps. Follow the steps in the article and check if that resoves the issue.

Chris's fix didn't work, and rebuilding the BCD would be great if I could actually get anywhere past the "Starting Windows" screen. I've already said this in my main post:

"So I can't start Windows at all, not even in safe mode, and I can't use the Startup Repair."
