Downloads stop after some time when downloading files (>10MB)

Hi,

On my new Laptop with Win7HB, I'm unable to download big files as downloads stop after some time. I know the problem is not with my ISP as BT downloads never stop like this and I'm able to download huge (>1GB) files over BT without any issue. Also, while loading some media rich sites (for.e.g. Google Reader), the connection is reset (Msg: Your connection to the server was reset). However, if I open a new window, I'm able to browse other sites easily which means that there is no issue with network connection.

Because of this issue, I'm unable to download any big file (tried different browsers - IE8, FF, Chrome) and moreover, installers that download during installation (e.g. Java JRE) cannot be installed as the download stops in between. Kindly help me out.

    Hi   Ashin T,

    1)      Do you get any error message when the download stops?

    2)      Are you referring to Bit-Torrent when you say BT?

    3)      Are you using any third party download manager?

Method 1: Internet security software, including Firewalls, antivirus programs, anti-spyware programs, and others can block certain file downloads. Check the settings in your security software to see if there is a setting that may be blocking downloads.

To diagnose whether Internet security software is causing problems, you can try temporarily disabling it, seeing if downloads work, and then re-enabling the software.

Disable the security software (Firewall program) and check; follow the steps mentioned in the link below

    **Disable-antivirus-software**

Important: Enable the security software back once everything is done.

Method 2: You may want check if the issue persists in safe mode with networking ****

Access the advanced boot options menu by turning on your computer and pressing the  F8 key before Windows starts. On the advanced boot options menu select  safe mode with networking

**Advanced startup options (including safe mode)**

**Method 3:**You may refer the article below which addresses similar issue ****

You cannot download files that are 2 GB or larger
