Playing AIFF files in windows media player

Hi,

I am trying to play some AIFF files in windows media player. I get the following error mesage " Windows media player cannot play file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file".

As WMP supports AIFF files i am assuming it is an issue with the codec.

Is there a solution out there so i can play the files ?

cheers, Matt.

    Hi,

Yes, it should be an issue with the codec’s.Search for appropriate audio codec’s using your preferred search engine and check if that helps.

Where do the files come from? Are you sure that they're in the AIFF format?

You can try installing  FFDShow . If that doesn't help, please open a few of the files in  GSpot , this program will report the audio codec that's used in the file. Then, you can report that codec back here.

Find Pot Player and install it. It works fine with it.
