'Invalid Product ID Error - with Valid Product ID

I have to repair my Windows XP installation. I have used a Windows XP installation disk from my 'ActionPack' subscription to repair an installation on a Dell Latitude. When completing the repair installation, it has asked me for the Windows XP serial (25 characters) code. I have entered the one on the back of the computer on three different times but keep getting 'Invalid Product ID' error in return. Not sure what to do next. I know the product id is correct - and I know that I have a valid CD.

Unfortunately, I appear to be in a 'do loop'. I had got to the point in the installation sequence where it is completing the install. That is when it asks for the product id - don't seem to be able to access the Windows Product Key Update Tool. Not sure how to proceed.

Sorry Chris I pushed the answer key by accident.  I have the same problem.  I even looked on the disk with another computer.  I explored to the I386 folder and found unattend.txt.  at the bottem of the paper it has the product key for the cd/dvd that you have.  However when I entered in that number in set up it said it was invalid.  So I am stuck at that step also. hope someone has an answer or what we need to do.  Dave
