Unable to save a file to my local user folder

I am trying to save a .pdf file to a folder in my local user folder, but it says that I do not have permission to do so.  My user is set up as administrator, so I thought I would have full access to manage any/all folders and files on the computer.  How can I manage my user profile so that I can have full control for all files/folders on my computer?  Thank you.

    Hello, ikempww

Go to C:\Users\ and check that your user account and the Administrators group have full access to your profile folder.

See the “Do I have to apply permissions to share my files with other users on my computer?“ section on the following link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-to-know-before-applying-permissions-to-a-file-or-folder

Although you should be able to save files to the folder, it may be best to save them to your desktop or one of the libraries for easy access.

I had a pdf opened in the browser and was trying to save it.  Not copy/paste.  The path is C:\Users<user name> Where the user name is my user ID, the one I have set as administrator.  I should be able to save files to my own user ID, especially since it's set as administrator, right?

I can only reply to the folder in your error message.

Application Data is not a real folder but a Junction that is used to allow Windows 7 to interface with legacy programs.  That is why it denies access.

Is that the location you are having trouble with?

    Hello:

I have a similar problem.  When I view User Accounts I see my Account type is Administrator.  However and for example, many times when I am working I will receive the message informing me I do not have Permissions, but when I check the properties of a file the file is not Read-Only and when I check User Accounts I see I have Administrator Rights.

C:\users[my name] Properties shows Full Control

Oh, but wait as I must tell you this and I have not checked it yet, but I see in Advanced Srcurity Settings for Myself the Permissions for:

Allow HomeUsers (Myself)\HomeUsers) Permissions shows the following:

    Type:  Allow

    Permission:  Special

    Inherited From:  <not inherited>

    Apply To:  This folder only

I clicked on Edit for HomeUsers for myself and I see Full Control has no check mark and I am going to check Full Control, Create/Write and everything down the column.  But when I now clicked on Apply I receive the following:

    Error Applying Security

Ann error occurred while applying security information to:

    C:\Users\Myself\AppData\Local\Application Data

    Access is denied

    Continue Cancel

Clicking Continue is an infinite loop and does nothing so I must Cancel.  What is wrong?  When I check I am part of the Administrator Group, but this is where I do have a problem and if you are able to assist, well that would be great.

Just from the limited information I provided are you able to point me in the right direction to resolve this problem?

    Thank you very much,

    Eric

You did not specify whether you are directly doing copy-paste or tring to save a file in this locaiton using some program. Also, User folder in system drive is ReadOnly. If you are admin, you should be able to copy-paste but if you are saving through some program, make sure that the program is running under admin proviledge

Recommendation is that, save data files in non-system drive/floder.
