I am having problems with .cfm extension on my and my wifes computer, she requires Endnote for Uni studies and we both followed the procedures on downloading this application onto both of our computers but have been redirected to download reg scanners and scanning both our systems for problems within our registries, all the scanners i have used give differing results in how many registry problems we both have and even when i purchased registrybooster2011 this was quite disapointing it had the lowest error recognition and even fixing the reg didn't repair the .cfm extension problem. Oh man this has done my head in can anybody help. is there a windows update that i should look for , even though i have all the updates........

Many thanks.

    HI Manasa

I put the same question to UniBlue the supplier of the scan software and reg clean , and got the answer to my problem, however for future reference my windows or antivirus software blocked the download and stored the file as .cfm , i checked the properties of this and found that all i had to do was unlock or stop it from being locked/blocked and then rename the file with .exe and then windows looked at the download and i was able to extract the files to a suitable location and install as ness.

I have been looking through the forums and think that this is a great idea for assistance and will keep asking and helping where i can also.

    Many thanks

    Hi,

    1.  What is the error message you get when you try to install these programs on your computer?

    2.  Where exactly are you trying to download the application to open these files?

As long as you have the program installed on your computer, you should be able to open the files with . cfm extension.

We will be able to answer your question better if we know what the error message the installation fails with. Also let us know from where you are trying to install the application.

Regards, Manasa P – Microsoft Support
