Is there a way to capture a video that is playing on my Windows XP screen similar to doing a Screen Print to capture an image of the screen as a picture?

I haven't had the time or the drive to read all about this on the links that you posted Volunteer J. I mentioned "like a screen print" because I was hoping that there is some simple way to capture the whole video as it is displaying and possibly edit the screen view that is displayed during the whole video to eliminate junk around the video, without learning to use anything complicated or purchase anything.

I'm glad you replied...I have found a new way to

    record a video.

    See the following links:

VLC Media Player...can record while video is playing

and will save the segment when you stop recording.

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System

Restore point before installing software or updates)

You other question relates to Cropping and the following

freeware can do that...maybe it would be something to

    experiment with:

    iWisoft Free Video Converter

Online videos from sites like YouTube can be downloaded to

your hard drive and videos can be split into smaller segments

using editing software like Movie Maker but if a screen capture

is what you wish to do...Expression Encoder may be what you

    are looking for.

    Yes...let us know the result.

    Once installed...go to...Start / Microsoft Expression /

Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture...to get

    started.

If this is not what you had in mind...please post a more

detailed description of the task you wish to perform and

maybe we can offer more ideas.
