I can't change the the spacing between the icons on my desktop. I am using the windows classic style and have my display font set to 110 DPI. The icon size is set to 28 and they are aligned to grid. Is there a setting for the default size of the grid

    Hello Jim,

Unfortunately, there is not a default size of the grid.  It would be best not to align the desktop icons to a grid.  I apologize for any inconvenience.  Unfortunately, this feature is by design.

Have you tried to change the spacing?

Right click on the Desktop | Properties | Appearance | Advanced Button. In the Item drop-down box select Icon Spacing. (Horizontal and Vertical).
